Dear Parents,
What a busy week it has been! Here are some of the things we have been up to...
What a busy week it has been! Here are some of the things we have been up to...

| We have been practising our throwing skills using javelins and our football skills. |

| The children have been enjoying stories about pets including 'Paula the Vet', 'Six Dinner Sid' and 'Mog the Forgetful Cat' |

| We have been learning to recognise and write our names. |
 |
| The vet role play area is still very popular. We added an x-ray machine and pet food this week. |

| The children enjoyed washing vehicles in the tub. |
 |
| There has been a big interest in mark making, particularly in using the clipboards and pencils. |

| As the children enjoyed washing smaller vehicles, we asked if they wanted to wash big ones too! They children had a great time and we had some very clean motorbikes, tricycles and cars at the end! |

We have focused on our number skills a lot this term and this week we practised using them to play board games such as the snail race.
Ms Grace has been absent due to illness this week. We hope she is getting better and will be back soon. Ms Tu has been helping us in the classroom. Reminders/notices -There have been two confirmed cases of conjunctivitis in F2. These cases do not appear to be linked as they symptoms appeared several weeks apart. Anyone affected with this should remain at home until the symptoms have gone. Please let the school nurse as well as class teachers know once it has been confirmed by the doctor. The classrooms and toys are being disinfected and we have been extra vigilant about hand washing and using hand gel. Please come and talk to us or Nurse Phuong if you have any further questions or concerns. -It is Pinky and Minh's turn to share their weekend news on Monday. -We will finish term 2 on Friday 28th at 11.30 am. Dear Parents,
It's been another busy and productive week in F2. Here is what we have been up to!
A big thank you for your support for our EYFS Activity Day on Wednesday. It was wonderful to see you joining your children in all the activities and taking part in the egg and spoon race and tug of war as well!
In the F2 unit, we have continued focusing on pets through our popular Vet's clinic role play area. We are have been really pleased to see how much the children's language has developed and how confidently they are engaging in pretend play using real life situations.
The children have been using our newly organised reading space. We have set up a listening area in which children have been listening and reading Handa's Surprise.
Our messy play area is grown increasingly popular over the week. We began the week with jelly crystals in the tuff spot and soap flake gloop in the tub. The children were more interested in the jelly crystals at first but towards the end of the week were fascinated by the soap flakes.
Last week, we received a letter via email from Benjamin. Benjamin was with us in F1 and in F2 up until Christmas. He returned back to the UK and has started at a new school. He has been missing Vietnam and BIS TX a lot so wrote us a letter. We read it together and chose some photos so we can write back and share what we have been up to in F2!
Reminders
-A gentle reminder that library books should be returned on Tuesday at the latest and be placed in the library basket. If your child's library book is returned late, you can return it and get a new one with your child. The library books basket can be found next to the names and bottles on the tables in the morning. Once books have been changed they can be found in your child's cubby hole. Please remind your nannies/child's carers to pick them up.
-Swimming bags should be placed in the baskets provided outside the classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This week in F2 unit, children have been spending lots of time in our role play area which was turned into a Vet clinic. After successful visits from ARC people, we were inspired by how much they take care and love pets!
Aside from role playing, children have been exploring new activities such as mark making using sand tray and different tools. We have also been experimenting with colours through the use of beakers, food colours and pipettes. They have been looking at what changes will take place when they mix colours.
Outside, children have been participating in more gross motor skill activities such as throwing and catching balls, skipping and jumping and kicking the ball towards a net. This is in preparation for the upcoming EYFS Activity Day. <------ please click to see the poster.
REMINDER:
We are looking for a pair of the insects specimen that we have been with playing in the classroom. If you children had brought one at home similar to the picture below, kindly bring them back to school. Thank you very much.
