"There's a shark in the park!"
Children have been very excited saying and even shouting these words in the classroom because we have been focusing on that book for some time now. Children have been joining in at re-telling the story to their friends and teachers.
These are the highlight of our week at school:
* The children made their own telescope and used them to look for sharks around the classroom.
* Lots of beautiful costumes were taken out and made available for the children to play. We have had police officers, heroes and princesses in the classroom this week.
* They have been playing with a big block of ice and started learning and using the vocabulary 'melting', 'cold', 'smooth' and 'rough'. We are going to build up on this next week and have an experiment on how ice is made.
* We have been busy colouring in our big shark display and children have all joined in the activity.
* More children have participated in our splash pool session and we are very happy about this!
* We have been doing lots of gross motor skill activities in the playground and the soft play room. Groups of children have taken part in playing football and doing different movements (Sticky Kids) in the soft play room.
Reminders:
* Please continue on bringing your children's swimming kit at school. We have been enjoying our splash pool sessions and would like all children to regularly join in.
* All your children's personal belongings should be labelled.
* Children have shown good understanding of BISCAT. We use BISCAT reinforce positive behaviour at school all the time. This half-term we are focusing on Internationalism and you will see below the objectives that go in the Internationalism strand.
* We have been using different educational websites in the class. If you want to visit and have a go at these websites with your child, please click on the links below. These are also available and can easily be seen on the side bar of our class' blog.
