Parent Workshop - Why Messy Play is Important?

You are all invited for a workshop about Messy Play. Kindly see the poster below for more information.

Newsletter 25.04.14.

Dear Parents,

This week in F2

It's been an exciting week this week with our  TX Green Day and the F2 Safari Park.  The children also had a great time counting the beats on the drums in Mr Robbie's room.  In the classroom, the children played a listening game called 'Mrs Brown's Box' in which they had to guess which instrument was making the sound they could hear.  I also played a Maths game with the children where they tried to match different shapes to similar shaped objects in the classroom.  We had great fun in the splash pool this week with the children having swimming races and using the watering cans.  We also celebrated Toby's birthday.  Happy 4th birthday Toby!

Fun in the splash pool with watering cans.

Music with Mr Robbie.

Using the scoops and balls in the main playground.

Bill and Anthony in the F2 Safari Park jeep looking at the crocodiles.

Mr John and F3 visited us during Green Day to make skirts, belts and jewellery from newspaper and magazines.

Children's blogs
We are busy writing end of term reports so the children's individual bogs will not be updated as frequently as they usually are.  The class blog will be updated every Friday as usual.

Invitation
We would like to invite parents and carers into the F2 classroom to experience the F2 Safari Park.  Please join us from 8-9 am on Wednesday 7th May to lots of fun!

Messy Play workshop
All EYFS parents are invited to take part in the messy play coffee morning with Ms Grace and Ms Crislet. This will take place in F2 on Tuesday 6th May at 8.20 am.  Please join them to find out how messy play opportunities enhance your child's learning and how you can support your child with messy play activities at home.

Transition to F3
We will be sending a letter to you soon to let you know how we will be preparing the F2 children for their transition into F3 next year to ensure the children are ready for their new year group.

Birthdays
A gentle reminder that although we love to celebrate the children's birthdays in class, please only bring in a cake.  No other gifts or chocolate/sweets.

Holiday
BIS will be closed from Wednesday 30th April to Friday 2nd May.  It will re-open on Monday 5th May.

Have a great weekend.

Ms Gurvinder, Ms Grace and the F2 team.

Newsletter 18.04.2014

It is the first week back and the children have been showing so much excitement and enthusiasm engaging in different activities in and out of the classroom. Ms Gurvinder took the children for a 'Listening Walk' around the school. This term we will be focusing on our listening and speaking skills even more to prepare us fro learning phonics in F3. We are very pleased with how involved the children were during the activity, they have been using their ears and an extra pair of Elephant ears to listen to the sounds they hear around them.

It was also Khanh An's birthday at the beginning of the week.  Happy 4th birthday Khanh An!

In the main playground, Ms Grace led some groups of children in using the bucket stilts and scoops and balls. Some children were very confident walking around using the stilts whilst others tried their best to get on their feet.

Our role play area is still under construction and we can't wait to open it next week!

This week, we have asked Tam and Toby to share their weekend news on Monday.

Let's welcome our new friend, Lucy N!

Momoko took part in creating patterns using animal print shapes.

Andy tried using the bucket stilts in the main playground.

Well done Chao for throwing and catching the ball!

Children were also busy threading different kinds of wooden beads.

Listening Walk took the children to the office to hear and listen to different sounds around them.

REMINDER:

Green Day Poem - Isaiah

Here is another lovely poem written by Isaiah and his mum.

IF I WERE A TREE
By; Isaiah Mehrudeen consulted with Mommy

If I were a tree...
I will cry, please don't cut me!
With love, I give my beautiful flowers
With love, I give my tasty fruits and seeds to grow even more
With love, I give a place to stay
The birds are calling me "Home"
And for you all,
We should be a best friend
Please don't cut me, I will cry...

Green Day Poem - Sao Mai

Here's a poem which Sao Mai and her mum contributed for Green Day.

Green, green, green, I like Green.
Because my world is full of green
And when I go out for my favorite ice cream
I can relax under a green tree.
Lying on the grass, opening your eyes
Through the leaves is a wonderful sky It's my dream!

Last year's Poetry Recital winners

We need your help with this. Here is your challenge - please write a poem with a 'green theme'. It just needs to be 4 or 8 lines long and has to rhyme too.

This competition is open to everyone; students, teachers, staff, parents... anyone connected to TX!

The best poems will be performed in the Green Day assembly by the children from each year group who do the best recital.

Any questions, please ask your class teacher or the EAL Department, thank you - and may the Green be with you..!
